MREIC Announces Public Offering Of Preferred Stock

FREEHOLD, N.J., Sept. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Monmouth Real Estate Investment Corporation (NYSE:MNR) (the “Company”), a real estate investment trust (REIT) specializing in single-tenant, net-leased industrial properties, today announced that it has commenced an underwritten public offering of its Series C Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock (the “Series C Preferred Stock”).  The Company intends to apply to list the Series C Preferred Stock on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “MNRprC.”  The Company intends to use the net proceeds from this offering to redeem outstanding shares of its 7.625% Series A Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock.  Any remaining proceeds will be used to repay borrowings outstanding under its unsecured revolving credit facility, to purchase properties and fund expansions of existing properties in the ordinary course of its business and for general corporate purposes.RBC Capital Markets, LLC, BMO Capital Markets Corp. and J.P.
